 PR partnership

A LEADING Irish PR company has announced a unique agreement that will see it offer specialist training to staff at four and five star hotels across Britain and Ireland.

The Irish Academy of Public Relations will bring its services to courses offered by Conor Kenny & Associates to provide advanced hotel and service sector training to venues across both islands.

The recently announced partnership will see The Irish Academy join with another training provider for the first time — a move they claim to be “particularly excited” about.

“We are delighted to be working with CKA,” said Ellen Gunning, Director of The Irish Academy of Public Relations.

“Public relations are a vital skill to have at management and board level, but in the cut and thrust of cutting costs and maximising profit margins this is sometimes overlooked. PR can be the difference between a business’s success or failure.”

The firm, which teaches courses in public relations, journalism, event management and online marketing, will now support the work of CKA, who provide training to some of the top hotels in Ireland, including the Westin, the K Club and Carton House Hotel, and a range of venues in Britain, including the Park Plaza in Cardiff, The Chesterfield in Mayfair and Worsey Park Hotel in Manchester.

“We are delighted to be joining forces with CKA,” Ms Gunning added. “The combination of our PR training expertise and their sales training expertise is a winwin situation for both businesses and our clients.”

Following the partnership announcement, CKA managing director Grace Gallagher said: “I am very pleased that we have been able to come together to enhance the current management and sales training courses that CKA provide. We will now be including vital elements of public relations training like media, crisis and sponsorship to our training programmes.”
