WHAT WILL BE COVERED – WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
George Bernard Shaw said, “The single biggest problem in communications is the illusion that is has taken place” And that short line was enough to launch a thought and ultimately a 4th. book and this course.
Based on and following on from the critically acclaimed 2020 book by Conor Kenny, ‘What Are You Saying? … and why you are not saying it’ this one-day course is all about communication, how we communicate, and how our words and actions affect other people internally, externally and on your customers. It delves into what we meant to say, and why we did not say what we meant to say – even when we think we did. Because, critically, whilst they may not remember the words, your people and your customers will always remember how we made them feel.
The course explores why we communicate, the problem with communication, how words create unnecessary fear, what motivates communication, psychology of words, trust, impact, listening, silence, watching, preparing, talking nonsense, insincerity, promises, responding and reacting, difficult conversations and the difference between, slang, cliches and jargon.
