This aim of this workshop is to provide important knowledge, understanding and skills for any Supervisor, HOD or Manager within your organisation who are required to handle conflict within the workplace.
The workshop will introduce participants to the concepts of conflict management and Mediation; the models, processes and some of the skills involved.
This workshop will be highly interactive with group exercises, discussions, case studies and practice pieces. A theoretical model of mediation will be introduced, together with some techniques and skills for resolving conflict in the workplace.
At the end of this workshop, participants will:
Have a good understanding of conflict and how conflict escalates
Understand different conflict styles and how they can impact
Understand how conflict in the workplace can be managed and some of the consequences if it is isn't managed
Have learned about ingredients for lasting conflict resolution
Have developed skills for working through disputes in the workplace
Have learned some conflict resolution skills and techniques
Have learned how managers can help to resolve conflict between others
Have learned about the effectiveness and benefits of mediation as an alternative dispute resolution
Understand when/where it can be a useful process for resolving conflict
Have learned about one model of mediation and the process involved
Have identified some of the benefits of mediation
