Dignity, Respect and Equality in the Workplace

Objectives

Many organisations profess to support the values of dignity, respect and equality in the workplace but the employee experience of life inside the organisation is often very different. This workshop seeks to explore the extent to which these values are supported by the hotel and examine the factors that may be shaping the culture at present. It also aims to provide practical advice for managers for effective team management by outlining best practice when it comes to upholding the principles of dignity, respect and equality in the workplace. A key objective of this workshop is to highlight how a fair work environment can lead to many positive outcomes for individuals, teams and the hotel itself

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this workshop participants should be able to:
1. Assess the extent to which the hotel can be considered a fair workplace
2. Analyse the factors that may be contributing to the hotel's culture at present
3. Discuss the responsibility of senior management/leadership in supporting the values of dignity, respect and equality
4. Recognise the opportunities available to make significant changes to the work environment
5. Understand the 'power of the group' in upholding the principles of dignity, respect and equality
